(ANSA) - LONDON, AUGUST 24 - Charlie Watts, legendary drummer and co-founder of the Rolling Stones, has died at the age of 80.

The BBC reports, citing the musician's British agent.


   Watts had had to announce the cancellation of the last tour of the Stones in recent days due to a worsening of his health conditions.

The death would have occurred following an emergency heart operation.
