With their sights set on the

next openings

, both of the Argentine borders for pilot tests with some foreign tourists, as well as those of Uruguay, Aerolineas Argentinas confirmed that they are already planning flights to the neighboring country for the next few weeks.

Although the operations

still do not appear in the system

since there is a lack of authorizations and provisions that regulate income from one side and the other, the first flights of the airline would be to the city of Montevideo, starting

on September 14

, every Tuesday and Friday.

Two days later, on

September 16

, Punta del Este would join the grid of foreign destinations, with operations on Thursdays and Sundays.

It should be remembered that before the coronavirus pandemic, Aerolineas Argentinas had 35 weekly flights to the capital of Uruguay, while to Punta del Este it had one daily (and in the summer season there could be up to four daily flights to the seaside resort) .

The openings

Starting next

Wednesday, September 1

, Uruguay will enable the entry of foreigners who are

property owners

and who can certify that they have a

complete vaccination

against COVID-19.

Those traveling must have a negative PCR test (performed prior to boarding).

Quarantine will not be required, except if entering with unvaccinated minors under 18 years of age.

In this case, all members of the traveling group must comply with the expected isolation.

It is also expected that, as of November, non-owner Argentines who want to travel for

tourism

, for example, with full vaccination and PCR tests, will also be able to enter Uruguay.

On the other hand, according to national authorities, as of Monday, September 6, Chileans and Uruguayans will be able to enter Argentina: it will be a pilot test to open up to international tourism.

Depending on how this test works - and as long as the infection rates do not grow - the measure

could be extended

to other foreigners, including others such as Latin Americans, Europeans and Americans.

Tourists who are authorized to enter Argentina must have a complete vaccination, a negative PCR test and comply with an isolation that is not yet defined.

In addition to these planned openings, there are requests from some provinces such as Mendoza, Córdoba and Salta that seek to reactivate their airports with international flights and border crossings to receive from abroad both Argentines, residents and tourists from Chile and Uruguay.
