A village in Italy built a "sun" for itself (TIKTOK / dr.karanr)
Such a thing is not heard every day: a small village in northern Italy that suffers from darkness some days of the year, has built itself a "sun" that will illuminate the village.
Vignela is a small village surrounded by mountains that block sunlight for three months of the year, from November to February.
To find a solution to this problem, Dr. Karen Raj - our ticking expert - explained how they managed to improvise light with a very fascinating video.
"This village in Italy has built its own sun," he explains in the video, "The lack of sunlight causes residents The city is experiencing a drop in serotonin levels - the wakefulness hormone.
Lack of natural light can adversely affect mood, sleep, energy levels and crime rate. "So how did they overcome this problem you ask? Well, the villagers built in 2006 on a high mountain a huge 40 m2 square made of hard steel and rose Around 100,000 euros.

This investment definitely paid off: the sight, set on one of the high mountains, absorbed the sun’s rays and reflected the flashes that illuminated the village on dark days.
Dr. Karen Raj adds: "This mirror provides 6 hours of light a day during the winter months and allows people to socialize."

Speaking about the project in 2008, Mayor Pierre Franco Midali said: "The idea behind the project is not based on science, but on people. It stems from the desire to let people socialize in the winter when the town is off because of the cold and darkness."

This Raj video garnered over 1.9 million views and viewers were stunned.
Some wondered why build a village in such a place at all, but the majority praised the idea.
"I would put such a mirror in the UK as well," wrote one and another (there is a situation where a resident of Israel) added: "We have too much sun. You are welcome to take."
The Italian village is not the only one in the world with home-made sun - the town of Ryokan in central Norway located in a dark valley also installed in 2013 three huge mirrors powered by wind and solar energy and moving in coordination with sun movement to send sunlight to the town square.
