(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 01 SEPT - Joe Biden denounces the leggetexana that limits abortion as "openly unconstitutional" and promises that his administration will protect and defend the right to terminate a pregnancy.
"This extreme Texas law openly violates the constitutional law established by Roe v. Wade and confirmed it as a precedent for nearly half a century," the president said in a statement released by the White House.
The measure, he continues, "significantly reduces women's access to the health care they need, particularly for communities of color and low-income individuals. And, outrageously, requires private citizens to report anyone they believe has helped another person to practice abortion, which could even include family members, health care workers, staff in clinic offices, or strangers with no stakeholder ties.
"My administration is deeply committed to the constitutional law established by Roe v. Wade five decades ago will protect and defend that right ", the president promised.
