Queen Margrethe II has been the Danish regent and commander-in-chief of the Danish troops since 1972.
You should think that tasks that fill out completely.
But Margrethe has repeatedly drawn attention to herself as an artist and designer over the past few decades.
She is now working as a set and costume designer for a new film that is being produced for Netflix.
The work entitled "Ehrengard" is directed by the Danish director Bille August, who was awarded an Oscar for "Pelle the Conqueror".
It is a film adaptation of Karen Blixen's story of the same name, which tells of intrigues at a German royal court.
The film is scheduled to be released in 2023.
Also known as a painter
"Ehrengard" is not Margrethe's first artistic activity on a film set.
Before that, she worked as a production designer for the Danish fantasy film "De vilde svaner" and in the same position for a short film version of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen".
Margrethe is also known as a painter in her homeland.
Her illustrations adorn the Danish edition of "Lord of the Rings", and she has already been exhibited in museums for modern art.
