Recipe: Nut snails with puff pastry - how to make them
First bring milk with sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar to a boil in a saucepan.
Then take it off the stove and stir in the nuts.
Now
heat your oven
to 220 degrees top and bottom heat or to 200 degrees circulating air
before.
Place a baking sheet (38x45 cm)
with baking paper.
Roll out your puff pastry and coat it with the milk and nut mixture.
Use a pizza cutter to cut the smeared puff pastry into about 12 thin strips.
Now roll up
each strip lengthways individually
and then place it on the baking paper with a little space between it and the other snails.
Push the tray into the oven and let the nut snails
bake
in the preheated oven for about
15-20 minutes
.
Then take the golden-yellow snails out and let them cool down sufficiently either on the baking sheet itself or on a wire rack.
For a delicious frosting, you can finally stir the powdered sugar with 1.5 tablespoons of cold water or a splash of lemon juice and
draw
strips over the
nut snails
with a teaspoon or a piping bag
.
