(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 25 - Promote and implement policies for the enhancement of the Italian agricultural supply chain in the context of the production and sale of soft drinks and cut waste. This is the memorandum of understanding formed by the Undersecretary for Agricultural Policies Francesco Battistoni and the President of Assobibe, Giangiacomo Pierini. A collaboration that therefore aims to facilitate the conditions for maintaining and strengthening the supply of Italian fruit and citrus fruits, encouraging product innovation and also expanding organic versions and working on reducing food waste and enhancing waste. For this reason, a comparison table will be set up at the Ministry, which will also be useful for monitoring the performance of the soft drinks market in Italy.
"The link between the institutions and producers in the sector is further strengthened", declares Battistoni and adds "with this protocol the operational foundations are laid to favor the enhancement of the Italian agricultural supply chain in an increasingly sustainable and organic key". For Pierini, "it represents a further step for companies towards a fruitful public-private collaboration for the enhancement of Made in Italy and its excellence. We are part of an integrated supply chain and therefore aware that there are different areas in which we can help spread a culture linked to our territories" . According to Assobibe, these initiatives "show that the ingredients used in soft drinks, including sugars and fruit juices, are not to be demonized with punitive measures that suffocate the sector,"they take away liquidity from companies and away investments ".
