"Agricultural insurance, we are going to do it"
, declared Jean Castex in front of winegrowers and representatives of the FNSEA.
"We will submit a text with the intention that it be voted on and promulgated before the end of the five-year term,
" he added.
"National solidarity will intervene in a much more massive way than today in the insurance system"

"It will be a substantial step of several hundred million euros"

600 million euros
President Emmanuel Macron announced on September 10 an overhaul of the insurance system against climatic hazards.
He also announced the doubling of the public budget dedicated to compensation for crop losses and the subsidy of farmers' insurance which would increase to around 600 million euros per year.
