(ANSA) - PARIS, OCTOBER 29 - The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, in the company of his wife Brigitte, will welcome the German chancellor Angela Merkel and her husband, Joachim Sauer, on Wednesday 3 November for the his farewell visit to the head of the Elysée.
This was announced by sources of the French presidency.
The same sources point out that it was Macron himself who wanted this meeting to take place in a city whose historical monuments and wine culture "illustrate the richness of the French heritage".
During the farewell visit, the Chancellor will be awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor by the French President.
