2021-10-31T19:02:44.384Z

The indicators that make it possible to monitor the coronavirus epidemic in France are now all on the increase.

As the weather conditions deteriorate and push the French to gather indoors, coronavirus contaminations appear to be resuming.

If it remains moderate for the moment, the new increase in the epidemic observed for several days is observed in hospitals.

According to data published this Sunday evening by Public Health France, 6,572 people are hospitalized due to a Covid infection (6,524 the day before) against 6,377 last Sunday.

Hospitals recorded 105 new hospitalizations in 24 hours, up from 63 seven days ago.

Among them, there are 1,046 people treated in critical care because of the coronavirus, against 1,018 a week ago with 20 new entries this Sunday.

We deplore at least 20 deaths which were reported by hospital services this Sunday, bringing the total to 117,651 deaths in France since the start of the pandemic in metropolitan France in March 2020.

The number of cases up by 11%

According to Public Health France, 6,329 new positive cases were identified in 24 hours, against 5,005 last Sunday.

A total of 5,858 cases are reported every day on average this week, up 11% in seven days.

The data for the weekend should be taken in retrospect, however, as they are not complete due to a large number of screening sites closed.

This should also be the case again on this holiday Monday of All Saints.

The incidence rate (number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants) all ages in France continues to increase, but very moderately: it rose to 57 this evening, against 51 a week earlier.

As a reminder, the only alert is 50. More in detail, the Bouches-du-Rhône is the metropolitan department with the highest incidence rate, around 100 for nearly a month.

In Guyana, the French department with the highest incidence rate, it fell below 200 for the first time in three months.

So to hope, as in the previous wave, that vaccination can slow down hospitalizations, avoid the saturation of these services but also possible new restrictive measures, injections of vaccine doses continue.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Solidarity and Health, 51,230,755 people received a first injection and 50,049,551 people have a complete vaccination schedule (at least two doses).

Only 13,000 injections were performed this Sunday.
