Two days after the violent death of a young man in Cologne, a 17-year-old turned himself in to the police.
The young person is strongly suspected of having killed the 25-year-old on Monday with a stab with a sharp object in the upper body, said the police and public prosecutor in the cathedral city.
He was arrested for manslaughter on Wednesday.
Passers-by had found the bleeding man on the street early Monday morning.
He died on the spot.
A homicide commission started the investigation and, based on the findings, applied for an arrest warrant against the 17-year-old on Monday evening.
They were looking for him.
The suspect from Cologne turned himself in to the police on Wednesday evening.
The accused initially remained silent on the allegations and can be represented by a lawyer.
The investigations into the circumstances and the motive continued.
Witnesses who observed the previous argument between the two men are still wanted.
