(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 05 - The mobilization of the Coop (together with the Onde Rosa collective, the Toccanoi association and the Change.org platform) for the reduction of the absorbent tax (the so-called 'tampon tax') arrived in the center of Rome this morning : first in a conference in the Senate, which has just begun, in the presence of the managing director of CoopItalia Maura Latini and the Minister for Equal Opportunities Elena Bonetti, then in Piazza della Minerva for a 'street dance' to encourage the signing of the petition to lower the tax on those that cannot be considered, they argue, "luxury goods". The government, as you know, in the past days, announced the lowering of the VAT rate from 22% to 10%, but "the target remains 4%", remember the organizers of the event. And, "the more than 650,000 signatures of digital food are now added to the over 79,000 signatures collected by Coop members and volunteers in a network of 260 points of sale located in 221 municipalities".
