A little more than six months after Simon Yates' success, the 45th edition of the cycling Tour of The Alps is already ready which, in 2022, will be held from 18 to 22 April. The race was presented in Milan. Five stages, 719 km and 13,750 meters in altitude: the figures illustrated by the organizers of the Gs Alto Garda. Many climbs, none above 2 thousand meters, but on reduced mileage (159 km the longest part). The first stage will connect Cles with Primiero / San Martino di Castrozza (159 km). Passo Brocon and Passo Gobbera will be the preview of a final characterized by the tear of via Molaren. On Tuesday 19 April, the climb will start again in the 2nd stage, from Primiero / San Martino di Castrozza to Lana (153 km). The Rolle Pass, the roof of the 2022 Tour of the Alps, is immediately waiting for the athletes.followed in the second half of the stage by the Mendola and the Palade, before the final towards Lana.

The 3rd fraction of Wednesday 20 April is entirely South Tyrolean: 149 km from Lana to Villabassa, characterized by the grim climbs that flank the Val Pusteria, Terento and above all the Passo Furcia, tackled from the more demanding side before the final on a slight slope in Villabassa. With the fourth stage on Thursday 21 April, Villabassa-Kals am Grossglockner, of 142 lm, the Tour of the Alps enters Tyrol through the Val Pusteria. The ascents of Kartitscher Sattel and Gailberg Sattel, with a brief encroachment in Carinthia, introduce a final to be interpreted, with the final ascent of 12.5 km characterized by numerous changes of slope, in the shadow of the highest mountain of the Austria, the Grossglockner.

Osttirol will host the final on Friday 22 April with a short section, 116 km, but full of surprises with start and finish in Lienz.

The athletes will have to face the well-known climb of the Bannberg on two occasions, from two different sides, and in the final the unprecedented stretch of Stronach (3 km with slopes always in double figures).

From the brow of the hill there will be 10 km to the finish: the first 5 downhill, the last flat ones.
