(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, NOVEMBER 10 - "President von der Leyen was clear" about the commission's - contrary - position regarding the construction of walls with EU funds.
This is what a spokesman for the commission explained during the daily briefing, answering a question on the opening to this possibility by the president of the EU Council Charles Michel.
"At the moment it appears that European resources are not used for the construction of barriers", the spokesman recalled, underlining however that the commission financially supports "the management of external borders, including infrastructure for border monitoring".
