Is that about new Abba songs? “Voyage” was definitely the last album of the group, said composer Benny Andersson. But now singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad has spoken in an interview.

After a break of 40 years, an album with new music by the Swedish pop group Abba was released on Friday. Expectations were high and, at least in Great Britain, the album »Voyage« seems to be a great success: over the weekend after its release, the Abba album sold more copies than the rest of the top 40 of the album charts combined. And in Germany, too, according to market researchers at GfK Entertainment, »Voyage« is on the way to ousting Ed Sheeran from number one on the charts.

Such a success could call for a sequel, but Benny Andersson, one of the band's songwriters, categorically contradicted such wishes in an interview at the end of October: Andersson said "This is it" to the Guardian - that's it with new music; even two unfinished songs from the album sessions should no longer appear.

So far, Andersson had done the promotion for the comeback album together with Björn Ulvaeus - both of them, for example, were also guests at "Wetten, dass ..?" The singers Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog, however, had so far stayed out of the campaign. But now Lyngstad, known to Abba fans as Frida, from a Mediterranean island called the breakfast program on BBC Radio 2. She was pleased about the success, she said, but the band no longer looked at it as closely as before: »We don't have to prove anything anymore, we just do it for our own fun. "

In this sense, Anni-Frid Lyngstad does not think it ruled out that there could be a continuation of the comeback: "I have learned to never say never," said Frida: "We have probably already said that it has to be the last one, what we do - considering our age, we are no longer young.

But you never know - don't be too sure. "

In terms of content, Lyngstad spoke about her ecological entertainment and the album track »Bumblebee«, among other things.

In this context she referred to Greta Thunberg as "our little queen in Sweden".

She is very proud of the activist that she has succeeded in getting all the young people to fight with her.
