Ganes are no longer an insider tip.

Now the pop trio from South Tyrol is releasing its new album "Or brüm".

It's no longer an insider tip: the pop trio Ganes, named after mermaids from various Dolomite myths, has earned a loyal fan base.

It was founded eleven years ago by the sisters Elisabeth and Marlene Schuen from La Val, a village in the South Tyrolean Val Badia, where Ladin is still spoken today, the Romansh language in which the two musicians also sing.

Ganes were founded eleven years ago

The Ganes brook flows past her parents' house - so it's no wonder that the new album “Or brüm” (“Blue Gold”) is dedicated to the subject of water.

The sisters are more or less in their element here.

The new songs are about consumption, waste and environmental degradation, among other things, but these serious themes are packaged in enchanting, mostly airy, light music that functions as a Trojan horse.

“It's the Ganes way of showing how absurd we humans deal with our planet,” explains Marlene Schuen.

"Especially in these difficult times, we need music as a stimulant that gives us a little power, joy and relaxation."

Ganes dedicate “Or brüm” to water

The meanwhile sixth Ganes record was recorded for the first time not in a rented studio, but entirely in Marlene's mobile home studio. "It's a huge advantage if you don't have to produce something under time pressure, but have the necessary peace," she says. “This time we were able to take on each other whenever we felt like it and were inspired; entirely according to our own ideas and without anyone talking to us. That also encourages you to try new things. "

Thanks to the transparent arrangements, the polyphonic singing typical of Ganes now comes into its own;

It is supported by violin, dulcimer, Hawaiian guitar, piano, clarinet or double bass - and by sparingly interspersed electronic elements.

In addition to radio-compatible pop gems, the CD also features two short atmospheric sound images with trumpet dabs and sounds that are reminiscent of nymphs whispered in stalactite caves.

If you listen more closely, you will be amazed to see that the second sound image is the same as the first - it only runs backwards!

Ganes have a new addition

You have to dare to do something like that first. But then it shows again that the well-bred, always discreet Schuen sisters, who at first glance appear like still waters, are in truth washed by the water. Few can hold a candle to them when it comes to talent, charm and chutzpah. And if your mouth is watering now, let me tell you: The new Ganes album is already on sale, and the Germany tour has just started.

At the concerts the audience finally experiences the new third in the group, the double bass player Natalie Plöger, hired as the successor to Maria Moling. She left Ganes to devote herself to other projects. “We met Natalie at a festival in Frankfurt, where we performed together with her band Elaiza,” recalls Marlene Schuen. “Her double bass is the perfect complement to our violins, and she has a great voice that goes very well with both of us. It doesn't matter that Ladin is not their mother tongue: If you sing in several voices, you will learn the pronunciation quickly. A gift for languages has a lot to do with musicality. ”On the“ Or brüm ”album, Natalie Plöger already proves how fantastic she can yodel - astonishing as she was born in East Frisia.

The trio is accompanied on the current tour by the multi-instrumentalist Raffael Holzhauser, about whom Marlene Schuen raves: "He plays the guitar so groovy and rhythmically that he replaces drums and percussion with it." You can find out what that sounds like in Andechs tomorrow evening determine.

Nothing like there!
