The process is the same as in 2018 for the release of
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
, their sixth studio album.
Speculation around a new album, but nothing very concrete.
Then one day without warning, some concert dates are announced in big cities.
On Monday, the Arctic Monkeys officially unveiled their return to the stage in 2022 with five dates, the prelude to a world tour.
The rock group will perform twice in Turkey, followed by Bulgaria, Croatia and the Czech Republic, four countries that were not covered on their last tour.
At the time, the first six dates communicated were for Germany (Düsseldorf and Berlin), Italy (Rome and Milan), Denmark and France, before expanding to the United States and Latin America.
Tickets will be on sale Friday, November 24 on the group's official website.
New album recorded this summer
Between June and July this year, Arctic Monkeys would have taken advantage of a stay in a former 13th century monastery in Suffolk, east of Cambridge, in order to record an album, or at least the bulk of the project. Matt Helders, drummer of the British group, affirmed the microphone of the BBC

“
We had to do it in a bit of a disjointed way and there are pieces to finish, but yeah, everything is in place
.
I think the time to finish everything will be for next year. With a little luck, we can release it and go on tour next summer
”.
According to rumors,
AM7 would
succeed
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
, the group's last production released on May 10, 2018. The title seems to be a contraction of the initials “Arctic Monkeys” and the number 7, a reference to this seventh studio album which will soon extend their discography.
AM7 also designates a chord that can be played on guitar or piano.
To date, no release date has been communicated.
