Princess Charlène of Monaco, who recently returned from South Africa after health problems, will not be attending the city-state's national holiday this Friday.
For a good restoration of their health, a period of rest and relaxation is required, said the Prince's Palace in Monaco.
The medical treatments were exhausting, and the 43-year-old had to recover from a state of general exhaustion.
The place of their recovery remains strictly confidential, it said.
Charlène had been stuck in her native South Africa for months.
Health problems had delayed her departure, just over a week ago she had returned to the principality.
Princess was treated in hospital several times
She actually traveled to the country of 60 million people at the southern tip of Africa to support the fight against rhino poaching.
She had visited a nature reserve where rangers dehorn rhinos to protect them from poachers.
A little later, she reported to the local media that an oral surgery performed before her trip had delayed her return to Europe in the small principality.
When flying at high altitudes, she cannot compensate for the pressure in the ears.
She was treated in the hospital several times.
She was stuck in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal, where she once trained for her career as a competitive swimmer.
She even spent her tenth wedding anniversary in the Cape, where she says she still has strong emotional ties.
As the Prince's Palace announced, Charlène will appear again in public as soon as her health allows it.
The Princess will be informed about the health recovery in the coming weeks before Christmas.
Until then, ask the princely couple to respect their privacy and family.
