After a fire in Köthen (Saxony-Anhalt), three houses are initially uninhabitable.
The fire developed on Monday for a still unknown cause in the roof structure of an apartment building and spread to the neighboring buildings, as a police spokesman in Dessau-Roßlau announced.
Initially, the fire brigade put the damage at around 1.5 million euros, and later corrected its estimate to around 500,000 euros.
According to the police report, "a total of 14 people were evacuated".
According to initial information, it was said that 14 residents could have left the houses independently.
The people were placed in an emergency shelter.
"One person had to be treated on an outpatient basis for a short time due to a state of shock," the police reported in the evening.
No other people were injured.
The cause of the fire still has to be determined.
Around 70 volunteer fire brigade workers with 16 vehicles were involved in the extinguishing work.
