(ANSA) - ROME, 12 DEC - The United Kingdom has reported 1,239 additional confirmed cases of the Omicron variant, the highest daily increase and almost double the previous high recorded yesterday (633).
The SkyNews reports, specifying that the total number of infected with the variant in the United Kingdom goes to 3,137.
Most of those infected with Omicron are in England (1,196 new ones for a total of 2,953).
In Scotland there are 38 new infections (159 in all) while there are no new ones in Wales (15 currently).
There are 5 new cases in Northern Ireland (10 in total).
