IT WAS THE HAND OF GOD by Paolo Sorrentino can't make it to the Efa and missing the appointment in the three categories in which he was nominated (best screenplay, direction and film). The winner, on the other hand, is QUO VADIS, AIDA ?, a family drama within the Srebrenica tragedy by the Bosnian Jasmila Žbanić who also took home the award for director and the one for best actress, Jasna Đuričić, a sort of Anna Magnani ready to do anything to save husband and child It's also okay for THE FATHER - NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS by Florian Zeller who gets, in addition to the European Film Award for screenplay, written by the director himself with Christopher Hampton, that too for the best European actor which deservedly goes to a champion like Anthony Hopkins who, thanks to this role, won the Oscar.These are the main results of the 34th edition of the European Film Awards 2021 which were held tonight in the Berlin Arena, via live streaming in a remote live ceremony conducted by the actress and writer Annabelle Mandeng and with nominees and winners who, at due to Covid, they took part in the event digitally, with pre-produced videos or live online interventions.
