(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 13 - More comics than films, more storyboard rereading than reinvention, the long-awaited DIABOLIK by ManettiBros with Luca Marinelli, Miriam Leone and Valerio Mastandrea, is a feature film almost to be read and that does not fail to use, in the dialogues, stereotypes of yesteryear such as: "Damn, we'll get you!" The film, in cinemas from 16 December in 500 copies with 01, is obviously the film adaptation of the comic of the same name created by the brilliant Angela and Luciana Giussani, and exactly from the third issue of the original series, entitled The Arrest of Diabolik. An important episode, the one treated by the ManettiBros, because there is the first meeting between the thief and evil genius, Diabolik (Luca Marinelli), and his partner and accomplice Eva Kant (Miriam Leone). A woman, the latter, by no means subjugated thanks toproto-feminist soul of the Giussani sisters.
Third main character of the historic comic, Inspector Ginko (Valerio Mastandrea), a methodical policeman obsessed with Diabolik, almost his alter ego who frantically chases the thief, owner of the Jaguar E Type Coupé, with his elegant Citroen DS Pallas.
The cast also includes Alessandro Roia, Serena Rossi, Roberto Citran, Luca Di Giovanni, Antonino Iuorio, Vanessa Scalera, Daniela Piperno, Pier Giorgio Bellocchio, with the extraordinary participation of Claudia Gerini.
Soundtrack by Pivio & AldoDe Scalzi, original songs by Manuel Agnelli in a film produced by Carlo Macchitella and Manetti Bros, Mompracem with RaiCinema in association with Astorina and Luigi de Vecchi.
