Education opens the door for participation in the sixth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Revolutionary Youth Union, announced the opening of the door for participation for students of different academic levels in the sixth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative for the year 2021-2022 launched by the United Arab Emirates.

The challenge takes the form of a reading competition in the Arabic language, in which students from the first primary to the third secondary grade participate, during which the participating students progress through five stages, each stage includes reading and summarizing ten books. Arab countries to the final qualifiers, which will be held in Dubai annually in the month of October.

In a statement to SANA’s delegate, the head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Ali Al-Abbas, the coordinator of the Ministry of Education with the United Arab Emirates, stated that participation in the competition is available to students of different academic levels, as each school sends the names of students wishing to participate via e-mail to the approved coordinator in each governorate, who in turn sends them to a link The competition in the Emirates.

Al-Abbas expressed his hope with the participation of a large number of Syrian students to confirm the civilized image of the country despite the challenges of the war, indicating that awards are given to the best reader, the best school and the distinguished supervisor.

The Arab Reading Challenge aims to develop the love of reading among the generation of children and youth in the Arab world and instill it as a habit rooted in their lives, develop self-learning skills, analytical and critical thinking, and improve their Arabic language skills.

The fifth edition of the challenge was attended by 52 countries and more than 21 million students from 96,000 schools and 134,000 supervisors.
