British Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed this Monday the first death in the country of a patient with the omicron variant of the coronavirus, hours after the Minister of Health, Sajid Javid, warned that the new lineage spreads to levels "Never seen".
Spain has received this Monday the first shipment of pediatric vaccines against covid, 1.3 million doses of Pfizer for children from 5 to 11 years old.
Health will be in charge of their distribution to the communities, Ceuta and Melilla, which will begin to administer them next Wednesday.
Infections continue to rise in several communities.
In Catalonia, doctors diagnose almost 2,700 new positives every day and there are already 242 seriously ill people in ICUs, with almost six deaths per day from covid.
