A Santa Claus figure on the radar device, in front of it two artificial reindeer: Strangers have decorated a speed camera in the Eifel for Christmas.
The creative arrangement was discovered in the Hürtgenwald community, said a spokesman for the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia.
It is still unclear who is behind the redesign.
You're still groping in the dark, said the district spokesman.
But: In the past week, two radar columns in a circle were decorated with Santa Claus hats.
One is also in Hürtgenwald, one in Niederzier, a few kilometers away.
Also here: originator unknown.
Looking for new accommodation
The circle apparently takes the action calmly.
An advertisement will not be made.
In addition, Santa Claus was allowed to remain seated on the speed camera for the time being.
"Colleagues from our road traffic department have moved Santa Claus to the side so that further measurements can be made," said the spokesman about the action previously reported by the "Aachener Nachrichten".
In the middle of the week, the mobile flash unit will be relocated as planned anyway - then without Santa Claus, said the spokesman.
One is now looking for a place to stay for the bearded gentleman with his animals.
