A drunk 40-year-old drove his car into a tree in Brandenburg - and fell into a pool on the run from the scene of the accident.
A police spokesman said the man had previously left the road in a left curve in Brandenburg with 2.23 per mille on Sunday evening.
After the accident in Briesen (Mark), the driver ran away.
Officials found the 40-year-old in the pool on a property nearby.
He was unharmed.
Damage of about 5000 euros
The forces took him to have his blood drawn and then to a sobering cell, the police said.
He was also given dry clothes there.
The accident resulted in damage of around 5,000 euros.
The man's license had already been withdrawn in November after he was caught drunk behind the wheel of a car, according to police.
