Dead Jacopo Compagnoni, brother of Deborah, overwhelmed by an avalanche

The accident in Alta Valtellina while skiing with a friend who was unharmed. It was he who gave first aid and sounded the alarm. His condition immediately appeared desperate for the various traumas reported. Compagnoni died in the hospital of Sondalo (ANSA)

40-year-old mountain guide, brother of the ski champion Deborah, died after being hit by an avalanche. With a friend he was descending on mountaineering skis from the north channel of Monte Sobretta, at about 2850 meters above sea level, in the municipal area of ​​Valfurva (Sondrio) when the detachment took place. The avalanche had a front of a hundred meters and overwhelmed it. The friend, unharmed, gave first aid and immediately called 112. Jacopo Compagnoni was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Sondalo where he died. 

Jacopo Compagnoni was overwhelmed around 12. His condition immediately appeared desperate due to the serious traumas reported.

The accident in Compagnoni occurred while he was in the company of a friend who, on the other hand, managed to save himself and sound the alarm to the rescuers.

It was he who provided first aid to Compagnoni pending the arrival of the Areu helicopter, which arrived promptly at the site of the tragedy.

The recovery operation was very complex.

In a second flight, Areu's aircraft brought his friend back unharmed.
