As France faces a fifth wave of coronavirus at a very high level, the government expects a new wave, boosted by the Omicron variant, which is much more contagious.
At the exit of a new Health Defense Council, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, wanted to toughen up the tone.
In a press address this Friday evening, he announced that the vaccination incentive would be stepped up in January.
"It is not admissible that the refusal of a few million French people to be vaccinated puts the life of an entire country at risk," he said.
Before revealing, "that a bill will be submitted to Parliament at the beginning of January, in particular to transform the health pass into a vaccination pass and toughen the conditions of control and sanction against false health passes".
