"The gendarmes must run as fast as the thieves!"

No more Renault Mégane RS, this Friday, December 17, the Minister of the Interior presented to the press the new vehicles, the Alpines A110, which will now equip the rapid intervention teams of the national gendarmerie.
In total, 26 of these cars will be made available to the gendarmes to fight in particular against very great speeding and drug trafficking.

"It is above all the power of acceleration that we are looking for, a strong power of acceleration to be able to insert ourselves in safety and to be able to catch up with the offending vehicle as quickly as possible", explains Chief Warrant Officer Stephen Cipreo, of the rapid response team from Salon-de-Provence.
"There is almost no chance of escaping this car, especially driven by experts such as the BR pilots", assures Laurent Rossi, general manager of Alpine, specifying that the Alpine can go from zero to 100 km / h in "four seconds three".
“It's a 250 km / h approved vehicle, but we know that we can go further as well… So it's an extremely capable vehicle,” he concludes.
This is not the first time that the gendarmerie has had this model of car.
The police had already been equipped from 1967 with the first Alpine A110 berlinetta, queen of rallies in the 1970s.
