Christmas: 95% Italians will shop for the menu in supermarkets

(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 18 - 95% of Italians will buy the products for the preparation of the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinner menus in supermarkets. This was revealed by an investigation conducted by ShopFully (an Italian tech company operating in the development of digital solutions aimed at generating traffic in physical stores) through the proprietary DoveConveni app. The results of the research show in particular that to complete their shopping cart, about 15% of consumers will then go to local markets, while 11% will visit specialized shops. On the budget front, in 90% of cases the aim is not to exceed 200 euros, while in the remaining 10% of cases the expected expenditure rises up to even 400 euros. The analysts report that in order to optimize expenses and be able to respect the budget,Italians will pay particular attention to promotions and will use different channels to get information: 85% will search for promotions mainly online, consulting flyers and offers transmitted digitally and shop websites, 25% will integrate searches with the paper flyer and 16% will also scout in shop. The ShopFully survey also probed the most affective aspect linked to the two dinners and the related menus. When asked which of the two dinners was the most awaited, the Italians took sides in 44% of cases with the Vigil, in 21% with the Last of the year and in the remaining cases they said to wait for them with equal enthusiasm. By asking instead on which occasion they prefer to experiment and in which to rely on tradition, instead, a clear split of preferences emerges.39% say they never experiment on these occasions, relying on the solid food and wine tradition of the area, while 61% say they include something innovative in their menus. Finally, it emerges that over 85% of Italians will have dinners on Christmas Eve and the last of the year in their own home, with relatives or friends. (HANDLE).
