Blocking of pornographic sites: tuKif denounces its competitors to the CSA

2021-12-28T16:28:00.095Z

The site considers it unfair that only 5 platforms are in the sights of the audiovisual regulatory authority.

The pornographic site TuKif, summoned by the CSA to block its access to minors, like four other sites, announced on Tuesday that it had decided to seize the Superior Audiovisual Council (CSA).

He considers it unfair that other platforms like YouPorn are not targeted.

"

It appears discriminatory and disproportionate to see the CSA target only 5 sites including TuKif, while sites with substantially higher traffic like YouPorn have not at this stage been the subject of any measure by the CSA

", writes TuKif in a press release sent to AFP.

Its manager, who introduces himself as “

Jérôme

”, said he found it “

incomprehensible to be among the only targeted sites when there are several hundred sites in France

”.

The competition authority was also informed of the referral to the CSA by TuKif.com.

He also requests "

the suspension of all action against (him) pending an action targeting all the sites concerned to avoid a significant imbalance of the market and a distortion of competition to his detriment

".

The CSA has so far refused any comment.

"

Ring the end of recess

"

The National Union of Family Associations (Unaf), one of the three associations to have seized the CSA at the end of November 2020 on eight pornographic sites so that it puts them in default, rebelled against the reaction of TuKif. "

The idea was not to put all the sites on notice, but to ring the end of recess,

" Olivier Gérard from Unaf told AFP. "

This does not mean that YouPorn is in compliance, it does not respect the law any more than others, (...) its turn will come, other sites will be put on notice

", he added.

Based in Portugal, TuKif is one of the five sites ordered by the CSA on December 13 to prevent minors from accessing their content, under penalty of seeing their platforms blocked by court order.

They have a period of 15 days from receipt of the postal letter of the formal notice to comply with the requests, said the CSA.

Letters arrive slower than emails, so the deadline is not necessarily December 28 for everyone, but maybe a little later.

The other sites concerned are Pornhub and Xhamster, established in Cyprus, which belong to the porn giant MindGeek, also owner of YouPorn, legally domiciled in Luxembourg.

Are also concerned by the formal notice of the CSA Xvideos and Xnxx, as for them installed in the Czech Republic.
