More than ten police officers were injured when a demonstration against the corona measures escalated in Bautzen on Monday.

According to the information, the officers were attacked with bottles and pyrotechnics and physically attacked.

However, allegations are now being made against the police on the Internet.

A video is to show how police officers in Bautzen kick participants in the protest march in the back.

Because of the suspicion of bodily harm in the office in the own ranks, an investigation had been initiated, said the police in Saxony on Twitter, referring directly to the video.

Now the time and location of the video would have to be checked to find out which unit was in use at the time.

“Regardless of the circumstances, such behavior is of course unacceptable.

We do not stand for that, and that does not correspond to the guidelines with which we work in action, "said a spokesman for the police, according to the news agency dpa.

So far it is unclear why the text of the video from a right-wing account, to which the police refer, mentions a "walk" on December 28th.

The riots in Bautzen occurred on Monday, one day earlier.

In response to a request from SPIEGEL, the Goerlitz police department announced that there had been no meetings in Bautzen on December 28th.
