This obligation applies to people over the age of 11, "with the exception of people circulating inside vehicles, cyclists and users of two-wheelers", "people practicing a sporting activity" or " people with disabilities provided with a medical certificate justifying this exemption ”, specified the prefecture in a press release.

"The territory of the Parisian agglomeration has known for several weeks a continuous deterioration of indicators on the circulation of the Covid-19 virus with an incidence rate approaching 2,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants - a level never reached before - due in particular to the presence of the Omicron variant which is particularly contagious ”, introduced the police headquarters.
“This situation requires, in places affected by the mixing of the population where systematic compliance with barrier gestures can be made difficult in the event of crowds, to take additional measures.

This is why the port's obligation will concern all outdoor public spaces, with the exception of the Bois de Boulogne and Vincennes.

In addition, the closing time of all drinking establishments on Saturday January 1 and Sunday January 2, 2022, including those with a derogatory opening authorization, is set in Paris at 2 a.m.
Dance activities in all establishments open to the public are prohibited.
Gatherings of people giving rise to the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads are also prohibited.
“In fact, the consumption of alcoholic drinks in groups, by their festive and social nature, can be at the origin of groups of people and induce a relaxation of barrier gestures.
Failure to comply with this provision will be fined up to 135 euros ”, specifies the prefecture.
