said today (Wednesday) that "the omicron and the delta have caused a tsunami of infections - the vaccines must reach other countries."

Adhanum, concerned about the spread, reiterated his call that states should distribute vaccines more equitably.

He added that the World Health Organization is working in each country to reach a target of 70% vaccination coverage by mid-2022, which will help seriously end the epidemic stage.

Also, against the background of the New Year celebration, China is alerting the World Health Organization to 27 cases of "viral pneumonia", from an unknown source in the city of Wuhan.
