(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 29 - "On Monday Istat will formalize the data on GDP growth and thus formalize a real economic boom for our country. Growth in 2021, presumably, will be + 6.5% : an amazing result (only France better than us with + 7%) ".
This was stated by the Minister of PA Renato Brunetta in a note, underlining that "this growth higher than any forecast elaborated at the beginning of the year is the sum of positive growth rates in all four quarters of the year just ended, including the fourth which, on a cyclical basis, it should show a + 0.6% compared to the previous quarter ".
"Even in the presence of inflationary tensions, especially in the energy market, of the geopolitical situation in Ukraine, and considering the effects of the fourth wave of the pandemic which seem to be gradually fading, the drag-and-drop effect of 2021 growth on 2022 will guarantee a more than positive launch for the 'current year and, if a GDP growth rate of + 6.5% is confirmed in 2021, the growth achieved can be estimated at around + 2.5% ", says Brunetta, adding that" the resilience shown by the Italian economy in the last months and the strategy implemented by the Draghi Government are also well suited for 2022 and we can reasonably foresee growth over + 4% for this year ".
