(ANSA) - LONDON, 04 FEB - The Cma (Competition and MarketsAuthority), the British regulatory agency on competition and the market, has fined Meta, the home of Facebook, for the second time, for new problems with respect to the acquisition of Giphy, a strategic start- up specialized in animation.
The amount required in this case is 1.5 million pounds (1.8 million euros) compared to the previous one of 50 million pounds (60 million euros).
The Cma had already ordered the sale of Giphy in order not to further increase the power in the social media market.
Facebook, which had initiated an appeal against the sales request, announced that it wanted to pay the new fine.
