The police in Wilhelmshaven have been called to the scene because of a sad peacock.

A boy and a girl, both eleven years old, heard a woman screaming for help from an adjacent field in Wilhelmshaven, Lower Saxony.

According to the police in Wilhelmshaven, the boy then called the officials himself.

He indicated that the screams were believed to have come from an abandoned homestead.

On site, the emergency services found that the homestead is used by an elderly couple.

In addition to sheep, cats and chickens, there was also a male peacock in the yard.

He let out the screams that the children had heard.

Mourning for Mrs. Pfau

According to the couple, the associated female had died a few weeks ago.

The male peacock mourned with loud cries, which could also be interpreted as a human cries.

The police praised the behavior of the children: They acted "responsibly and courageously" in a situation that appeared to require help by alerting the officers themselves.
