(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 05 - Consumption has not yet recovered from the pandemic crisis of Covid but the VAT revenue in the first half of 2021 has recovered thanks to the purchases of benidurevoli they have kept and the increase in digital payments that offset the expenses in services (shops and restaurants) where the tax is lower and tax evasion is higher.
This is what emerges from a paper published on the Bancad'Italia website (but the opinions do not reflect those of the bank) which recalls how each percentage point of increase in the rate of digital payments results in a 0.4% increase in VAT revenues.
