An Austrian manufacturer is recalling a fruit yoghurt.

Because the product can cause injuries due to glass splinters. 

Wels – If you live near the border with Austria and like to make a detour to the supermarkets in the neighboring country for your weekly shopping, you may have to be prepared for unpleasant news.

Because a fruit yoghurt, which is available there from Billa and Unimarkt, among others, is immediately recalled due to the risk of injury. 

Consumption of the "Bergbauern Yoghurt Peach-Passion Fruit" is not recommended due to the risk of foreign bodies.

Yoghurt recall in Austria: Product could contain glass splinters

The product is the 150 gram jar "Bergbauern Yoghurt Peach-Passion Fruit 3.1% fat" from the Schärdinger Berghof brand.

However, only the batch with the best-before date of January 28, 2022 is affected by the recall.

As the manufacturer Bergladmilch eGen informed in a letter, the product could possibly contain foreign objects due to broken glass and is therefore no longer safe to eat.

The item was immediately withdrawn from sale "out of responsibility for the health of consumers and to ensure the safe use of our products," the company said.

Foreign objects such as glass splinters in food are not to be trifled with.

Because eating it can cause injuries in the mouth and throat and, in the worst case, even internal bleeding.

If you own such a product, consumption is strongly discouraged.

If the fruit yoghurt has already ended up in your shopping cart, you can return it at any time.

You can also have the purchase price reimbursed without presenting the receipt.
