Are you still looking for a Valentine's Day gift and don't want to resort to cut flowers?

Then give away roses and co. as a self-created fragrance.

Munich - Valentine's Day is just around the corner and everyone who is in a relationship or who wants to declare their love for their crush with something beautiful is looking for the right gift.

A bouquet of roses is beautiful, but not very unusual.

It is different with an individual fragrance, as 24garten.de explains.

Scents for Valentine's Day: These natural perfumes are a hit

In addition to colorful bouquets of flowers, DIY declarations of love made from food and classic chocolates, fragrances are at the top of the list of Valentine's gifts.

Anyone who has their own roses or camellias in their garden is already at the source.

The flowers, which are hardy like the camellia or come through the winter with a cover like the rose, form the basis of an individual perfume.

Your loved one can then not only use it as a body scent, but also as a room scent.

Because the scent of roses is said to have a balancing and relaxing effect.

For homemade rose perfume you will need:

  • Rose petals of two fragrant roses

  • 20 milliliters of spirit of wine

  • A dark porcelain glass bottle

  • Five milliliters of jojoba oil

  • A funnel

  • A perfume atomizer

Pluck the rose petals from two fragrant roses.

The riper the rose, the more intense the aroma.

Put the leaves together with the alcohol in a dark pan or glass bottle and add the jojoba oil.

Cap the bottle and shake it well.

The bottle must now stand in a dark place for about six to seven days.

If the essence no longer smells of alcohol, but only of roses, it is ready and can be sifted through a fine sieve.

It will keep for several months in an atomizer.

If you want, you can refine this fragrance with other aromas such as sandalwood, lavender or patchouli.

Valentine's Day Scents: Which Rose Smells Best?

Damask roses have the most intense aroma and are therefore the most commonly used for the extraction of rose oil and rose water.

In addition, "La Rose de Molinard" is a popular variety that is also very hardy and resistant to pests.
