In an accident on Autobahn 1 in the direction of Bremen, a truck lost several tons of glass on Monday afternoon near Schwerte (North Rhine-Westphalia).
A Dortmund police spokesman said around 5 p.m. that the road would have to be cleaned at great expense and would remain closed for hours between the Westhofener Kreuz and Schwerte.
Three people suffered minor injuries.
Three trucks were involved in the accident, the spokesman said.
Details of the process are not yet known.
Obstacles around Schwerte and in the south of Dortmund due to alternative traffic are to be expected.
