WhatsApp will have a new emoji feature in the future.
Pictures have now appeared that provide the first details about the planned feature.
Munich - The world's most used messaging application WhatsApp wants to roll out a new update again.
This time it's about a new emoji feature.
The new feature will soon make conversations in chats look different, as in the future with the introduction of the new feature, you will be able to react to chats with a choice of emojis.
WhatsApp gets Reactions with a new update - now you should be able to react to chats with emojis
For people who often find themselves in this situation in everyday life, the update could be of great help: You chat with a friend or work colleague and get a message that doesn't actually require an answer.
However, it may well feel rude not to respond and end the conversation abruptly.
Or you just want to show that the message has been taken note of.
Although there is a read receipt, many people do not find only two blue ticks sufficient at this point.
WhatsApp now wants to improve this with a new update based on the example of Twitter, Signal or Discord, as reported by the
WABetaInfo
portal .
Accordingly, the user should be given the opportunity to react briefly and concisely to a message with certain emojis.
WhatsApp update planned for reactions: Pictures show details - currently only available in the beta version
Pictures have already appeared for the new function, which give a detailed view of the update.
The respective screenshots were published by
WABetaInfo
.
According to the portal's recordings, you will have six emojis at hand, such as a thumbs up, a heart emoji or a laugh emoji, with which you can react directly to a message.
The reaction then appears in the lower right area of the message.
Apparently the developers have been working on this update since September.
The feature was introduced in beta and will soon be available for all iOS and Android devices.
However, the exact time has not yet been determined.
It also remains unclear whether there will be a larger selection of emojis, or whether it will initially only remain with the six emojis.
