The discounter giant has often shown that it can be creative.

Now there's a new video that's going through the roof on social media.

It's also about Harry Potter.

Creativity?

Can Aldi Süd!

The discounter giant regularly impresses with unusual ideas in marketing.

Whether it's the highly emotional Christmas film* or the short video on Facebook.

Aldi* fans get their money's worth and are often well entertained.

Even if the company often has to take criticism on its channels, as recently when it came to animal welfare* or previously to the mask requirement in the branches*, Aldi seems to have hit the bull's eye this time.

HEIDELBERG24* summarizes what it's all about.

Aldi convinces with Harry Potter video: That's what the discounter's "magic" clip is about

The video is particularly popular with Harry Potter fans, because the video revolves around the magical world created by book author Joanne K. Rowling.

Only that Aldi Süd is not planning a sequel, but is using the peculiarities of the school for witchcraft and magic.

At Hogwarts, students must put on the Sorting Hat at the start of their term, which then designates a "house" for the newcomers.

Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw are all available and all have their own idiosyncrasies, colors and are more or less popular with fans.

Harry Potter and his friends are assigned to Gryffindor, while Slytherin is sometimes unpopular due to the constant trouble caused by Draco Malfoy and his fellow students.

But what does that have to do with Aldi Süd?

Aldi Süd has now used the four houses somewhat differently.

The discounter giant recently published a video advertising snacks on Instagram and Facebook.

It says first that every snack is a “big win”.

Then the individual snacks from Aldi are displayed - in a very special way!

Framed by logos in the colors of the respective Hogwarts houses, it is first about River Cola, under which "Rivindor" is written.

This is followed by a smoothie with the signature "Schlürferin", mini bread chips that probably belong to the house "Ravenknurps" and the highlight: waffles from the house "Waffelpuff".

It is clear which houses are meant, and the magical music in the background is very similar to the Harry Potter film music.

Aldi causes a stir with a Harry Potter video: users and fans are thrilled

The reactions on Instagram are clearly positive.

A user writes: "I love this ad." Another user says: "Aldi keep it up.

It's really funny and keeps the fire going.” The praise for the creative video runs through the comments and even followers who aren't Harry Potter fans like the idea.

The question from Aldi Süd about the color that users would choose was also well received and caused one or the other to have “pangs of conscience”.

User olethebear says: "Normally I would have chosen red here, but hey there are waffles!

Clearly Wafflepuff." Another user says in relation to Slytherin and in the Wafflepuff video: "Green at heart, but the yellow ones just look too tasty." Others are sure.

A user writes: "Forever Ravenknurps." Either way, the advertising from Aldi Süd was a hit and continues to do the rounds on the net.

And the customers will surely think to themselves after eating the waffles: "Misdeed committed".
