Cinnamon rolls are great, but try homemade buttery vanilla rolls!

Do you love cinnamon rolls?
Then you should also bake these ingenious butter and vanilla snails with yeast dough.
A treat for the whole family.
So much can be done with yeast dough!
In addition to bread and pizza, of course, delicious cakes and sweets.
If you need a change from the ever-popular cinnamon rolls, we can
only recommend the simply made
butter and vanilla rolls.
They are similar to Swedish snails but filled with butter and vanilla instead of cinnamon.

The recipe may take some time to prepare, but it's worth it, I promise!

Butter Vanilla Snails Recipe: You need the ingredients
For the dough:
20 g fresh yeast – if you want to use dry yeast, follow these instructions
50 grams of sugar
200g lukewarm milk
30 grams of butter
400 grams of flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
For the filling and topping:
60 g soft butter
55 g vanilla sugar
1 egg

Recipe: How to bake delicious butter vanilla buns
For the yeast dough
, put the crumbled yeast with the sugar in the lukewarm milk to dissolve.
Then put this mixture in a bowl along with butter, flour, egg and salt.
Knead everything for 2 minutes by hand or on a low speed in the food processor.
Then knead the dough for about another 15 minutes at a higher level or by hand.
Put the dough in a floured bowl, cover with cling film and let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour.
Then turn the yeast dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and dust it with a little flour.

5 millimeters thick
.
Brush it with 60 g softened butter and sprinkle with the vanilla sugar.
Now cut the dough lengthwise into
finger-width strips
and turn them in opposite directions from both ends and shape them into a snail.
Place the snails a little apart on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (or read these more environmentally friendly alternatives to baking paper) and brush them with water.
Place a tea towel over the snails and let them rest for another hour or so.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Then whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of water and brush the snails with it.
Bake the butter custard rolls in the oven for about 15-20 minutes.
Don't let them get too brown, every oven is different.
And the best
buttery vanilla buns
in the world are ready.
Admittedly, a bit more complicated, but the taste will reward you for the effort!
If you like, you can cover the snails with icing after they have cooled.
