(ANSA) - NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 10 - The president of the St. Louis Fed


   , James Bullard, opens the first needlepoint rate hike since 2000 to cope with the surge in inflation.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Bullard says he is in favor of raising the cost of money by 50 basis points, so as to have rates rise by 100 points by 1 July.
