Looking at how Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are dealing with their breakup, the contrast couldn't be greater.
Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021.
West, nicknamed Ye, has been pretty loud ever since.
He's made it known multiple times that he wants Kardashian back.
"I have to be home," the rapper said in an interview.
"I want us to be together," in another.
He's now showing himself quite publicly with a new woman, actress Julia Fox.
The two had a photographer accompany them on a date, and she wrote a short essay in a magazine about the Kanye thing.
Kardashian, on the other hand, was pretty quiet.
She left her ex-husband's advances unanswered, as well as his rather publicly flaunted new fling.
Kardashian, who is otherwise so media-savvy, also held back on her private life.
She never officially confirmed her alleged relationship with comedian Pete Davidson.
Now Kardashian has revealed for the first time why the relationship failed.
The sentences do not mark the beginning of a mud fight, they do not read like a tit-for-tat.
Rather, Kim Kardashien tells the breakup as part of a quintessentially American reinvention of herself.
She has made other people happy for too long, she told Vogue.
"And I think in the last two years I've decided to make myself happy." That felt good.
But it also led to their separation.
"Being in my forties is about being Team Me," said the 41-year-old.
She wants to eat well, do more sport and spend more time with her children.
And she will put her cell phone aside more often.
Kardashian says she always speaks highly of Kanye in front of her children.
"No matter how hurt or angry you are about your ex, always say, 'Your dad is the best' in front of the kids."
After a divorce, you should still be your partner's "biggest cheerleader."
As rational as all of this sounds, even Kardashian is not immune to taking conflicts publicly.
A few days ago, Kanye West was annoyed via Instagram that his daughter North was registered with the Tiktok platform against his will.

Kardashian also posted a response on Instagram: "Divorce is hard enough for our children," according to media reports.
"Kanye's obsession with manipulating and controlling our situation in such a negative and public way only makes the pain worse." She wishes everything about the children to remain private.
»Kimye« were the glamor couple of the attention economy and set new standards for celebrities.
Kardashian made his fortune from cosmetics, fashion, and self-promotion.
Ye is a rapper, music producer and entrepreneur, among other things in the fashion industry.
