It will not save the late Tikva Saban that all her life was before her, but maybe others who are prone to suicide will be saved • A conversation with a young woman who is in a storm and wants to commit suicide ends in rescue • Creepy

"Hello warm home, what can be done to help?"

"It's hard for me," says the appellant, who called apprehensively.

"It's hard for you, do you want to tell a little more?", The caller asks her.

"I'm tired of this life already, no one cares about me. Everyone goes on with their lives and only I'm stuck, nothing will happen if I'm not here," the young woman replies in a storm.

This is a real conversation that took place with a young woman who shows suicidal tendencies.

If only there was hope Saban would turn to a place where they would understand her heart and help her, maybe then things would have turned out differently.

It has been a week since the death of 20-year-old Saban, who has been battling mental distress for years and put an end to her life, and it is time to break the silence on suicide among young people.

It will be recalled that last November, a conversation between the late Saban (nicknamed T. from Be'er Sheva) with the police hotline was revealed, in which a police officer was heard begging her to commit suicide after she said she had suicidal tendencies.

The shocking conversation, which of course resonated after her death, flooded the critical need for emergency centers behind qualified professionals who knew how to provide a life-saving response when needed.

Many nonprofits operate an emergency line for people with mental health difficulties.

These include Aran, Sahar, Ella Center and Natal. The Beit Ham association, which has been operating for 25 years and employs 300 people from professional backgrounds, also offers an emergency center and a general center. The association notes that during 2021, there were 840 calls (70 calls per month on average) with the seven Meron, Carlin and Closure disasters, the calls increased by tens of percent, just for comparison, before the Corona there were an average of 50 calls per month.

Among the thousands of inquiries received at the hotline, there are also many inquiries that come from a suicidal background.

Here is a true transcript of one of them that might succeed in stopping the next unnecessary death.

Addressing: "I have no girlfriends, my parents are divorced and I am dumped like a dog";

The caller: "Is there anyone helping you?";

Addressing: "No, no one";

The caller: "I really appreciate the fact that you called, it's important for you to know that I'm here with you, for you, I want you to have only good. I will not leave you until you feel you are able to continue";

Applicant: It's so hard for me.

I have no job, I have no money, friends, nothing in life, for what to live at all?

I'm sick of life".

The caller: "Would you like to go to bed and not wake up anymore?";

Applicant: "Yes";

The caller: "Have you had thoughts of suicide?";

Applicant: "Yes";

The caller: "Have you thought of any way to do that?";

Addressing: "Yes, I have pills at home, I collected a lot. One day when I get really tired I will swallow them all. I also went to Azrieli, I went up to the roof and I think I'm not afraid to die, I will not miss anyone anyway."

The caller then asks if there were moments when she was successful, and the appellant found one moment, which was a turnaround, and she was then able to feel better.

Host: "I'm here to remind you of the power you have and now it's hard for you to see it. Sometimes it seems hopeless and hard to see it, but it's like the sun, exists, but hides behind the clouds. Let's try to find it together. Did you believe that the situation could change? "

Turns: "The truth I did not believe, I was sure that life closed on me and that's it, I'm not worth anything and I have no point in living";

Host: "And then?";

Turns: "I saw that there was hope that everything could change";

Host: "Do you believe that even now, when you are in a narrow tunnel without the ability to see the light, it will still come and go out of this darkness that you describe?".

Addresses: (silence, thinking) "maybe";

Focus: "I am sure that good and beautiful days will come, and with your willpower and fighting, the skills I felt you had and the wisdom you bring with you, you will be able to develop yourself, move forward in life and see that it is just a small part of the whole life sequence."

Pune: "I hope, I really want to get help. I think I do not really want to end this life, I'm just in distress; focal point:" What are you doing now something good for yourself? "; Pune:" I think I will take a good bath, and maybe I would also like to hear music "; Mokdan:" It is important that you know we are here for you 24 hours, whenever you feel the need we are here, do not be left with it alone!

There are a lot of good people who are not willing to give up on you.

Do you have anything else in the house? "; Turns:" Yes, my mother "; caller:" Would you agree for me to call tomorrow to ask how you are? "; Turns:" Yes, it's important to me.

I feel much better, I hope it will be good. "

Were we wrong?
