A light aircraft lost a door shortly after takeoff from Klagenfurt, Austria.
As the police reported, according to the APA news agency, the 68-year-old pilot managed to turn around and land safely in Klagenfurt.
The machine took off towards Styria shortly before 3 p.m.
According to the information, the door to the cockpit had opened for an unknown reason.
Attempts by the pilot to close them failed.
The door was then torn from its anchorage and fell down over an uninhabited area.
The pilot's headset was also damaged by the suction effect and a radio connection was no longer possible.
He had to send out a distress signal to contact the tower for landing.
According to initial findings, no one was injured in the incident.
