If you like to pay cash when shopping, you should follow a few rules.

Because in certain cases cashiers can refuse the payment.

Munich – Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, cashless payment has experienced a great upswing.

In Germany, however, many customers still like to pay for their purchases with notes and coins.

After all, this also has some advantages, such as a better overview of your own expenses.

As convenient as cash is, there are a few basic rules customers must follow - some of which are not widely known.

Cash payment at Rewe, Kaufland and Co.: These rules apply when shopping

As the consumer portal Baden-Württemberg informs, one rule of thumb applies above all: "Larger amounts should not only be paid for with small change at the supermarket checkout." Basically, no more than 50 coins should wander over the counter - otherwise the cashier can refuse the cash payment.

After all, counting the small change can take some time.

The following applies to shoppers: It is better to pay with the card once more than to make yourself unpopular with the cashier.

If you carry large amounts of coins with you, you can still get rid of them at the supermarket.

As

reports, practical coin-operated machines will soon be available in many branches of the retail giants Kaufland, Rewe and Edeka.

There customers should be able to exchange annoying small change for a fee for a shopping voucher.
