Just in time for Valentine's Day, Aldi shares a special video with its customers.

In it, lascivious scenes take place.

However, these are not equally well received by all customers.

Food - February 14 is all about love.

Whether it's a bouquet of roses, fine chocolates or a romantic candlelight dinner: Lovers and loved ones all over the world see red on Valentine's Day.

Such a special occasion also proves to be an enrichment for companies and shops.

Tempting special offers and specially curated “Valentine's Day” ranges are intended to make couples intoxicated by love want to shop.

After all, you want to make your better half happy with carefully selected and extravagantly wrapped gifts.

Aldi also seems to have succumbed to the romantic flair of the festival of love this year.

Because on February 14th, the discounter giant shared a different kind of advertising video with its customers – in which it is quite ambiguous.

Although there is not much to see in the almost 40-second commercial published by Aldi Nord on the YouTube video platform, apart from arms and various fruits, there are still lascivious scenes.

Touching hands and a more than ambiguous presentation of everyday scenes such as pitting an avocado or squeezing a lemon are more reminiscent of lovemaking and intimate hours than of the weekly shop.

"Love is for everyone!

Love is different for everyone," writes Aldi to the video, "Put on the rose-colored glasses with us and let's celebrate love in its infinite diversity for Valentine's Day".

Whether something like this was really needed is debatable.

But one thing is certain: it will stick.

The video seems to polarize Aldi customers.

Many are more than impressed by the sensual spot.

"Strong statement, mega aesthetics," enthuses a YouTube comment.

"Thank you for the diversity," says another.

However, other buyers seem to be anything but impressed by the enticing images.

"A lot of other things would have been better as a Valentine's Day concept," writes an outraged user.

"For me as a customer, a queasy feeling to support this food market," it says.

"Fully misses the embassy," agrees another customer.

Aldi itself makes it clear which message should be achieved with the video: “The message behind it is not sex sells, but diversity and #loveislove.” Such a message is welcome to be spread – especially on the day of love.

It is a well-known fact that no expense is spared on Valentine's Day.

Gifts for loved ones could turn out to be significantly more expensive this year.
